About Me

My photo
Well...I'm a happy person thanks to my fabulous husband, my family, my friends and all that God has blessed in my life. I love to laugh and to make others laugh...hysterically, possibly even until they wet their pants. I'm a fan of shopping, eating and reading. Unfortunately, I have the disgusting habit of picking/biting my cuticles (hence my love of Burt's Bees Cuticle Creme), and I have a tendency to be too trusting of others. I also have a hard time saying no to others, except in regards to my job. I'm an underwriter, so I get paid to say no every now and then. Russ and I enjoy boating in the summer and sitting on our butts in the winter. We have an amazing circle of friends, and basically, life is good :)

It's Official

I've been sucked in (no pun intended). I had to see what all the rage was about, and am I sooooo glad I did!! I was quite skeptical at first. I found it hard to believe that I would enjoy something written for middle/high school aged girls, but oh, how that author knows how to reel you right the heck in to her enchanting vampire web of love and temptation. I can't wait to finish the saga. EEK!! SO EXCITED!

If you haven't yet, I suggest you get reeled in, too:)

WOW

I recently caught up on my SIL's (sis-in-law) blog. For a real eye-opener, read her most recent blog, Pride and Prejudice.

Thanks, Audball:)

FABULOUS: In a Bottle (or tube...or jar)

So, I recently got a sample from Sephora for Korres Body Butter in the Guava scent. And basically, it is fabulous. Not only does it have a nice, light summery smell, but it makes your skin incredibly soft. I freakin' love the stuff!

Since I got some gift cards to Sephora for Christmas, I decided to treat myself to some more Korres products. I got a great gift pack that included a full size of the Guava body butter, shower gel and lip butter. Oh my...how I love this stuff! I also got a couple of other samples while I was there of the Evening Primrose eye cream and the Milk Proteins cleanser. Everything has been really great. I will definitely be purchasing the full size Milk Proteins cleanser.
Take a looksee:
You should definitely give some of these products a try!

Since It's a New Year and All...

I decided to post one of those fun little surveys you always pass around with your friends via email. Normally, they all ask the same questions and yada yada blah blah, but this one is about the New Year and all that good stuff! I've never seen this survey before, so here goes!!

Will you be looking for a new job? Hopefully not!

Will you be looking for a new relationship? Romantically, no. Friendly, sure! I love making new friends!

New house? No, but I've already done some re-decorating in my living room and guest bath, so yay!

What will you do different in 2009? Probably stop taking the Pill (yay!) and try to eat more fruits and veggies.

New Years resolution? Stop biting my cuticles (yeah, right. I say that every year. UGH) and stop saying swear words. So unladylike. And also keep last year's resolution going: exercise more!

What will you not be doing in 2009? Spending as much money on frivolous things.

Any trips planned? Heck yes! Vegas in May, and possibly Hawaii in April (Maui, in case you're interested).

Wedding plans? For me, been there, done that. For others: Russell's cousin in April, Russell's friend from high school in June (in Chicago...yay, never been there before! Well, besides the airport a billion times, but that doesn't count), and my friend, Katie, in November (if I'm invited, which I'm sure I will be!! Right, Katie ;) !!)

What's on your calendar? Chihuahua puppies, months, days...j/k. I'm being a smarty pants. Ummmm...let's see. The trips and weddings I talked about above, lots of people's birthdays and anniversaries. You know, the usual. Oh yeah, Jen's 30th birthday celebration next weekend! Cabin in Pigeon Forge! Yay!

What can't you wait for? Well, the fun trips we have planned. Going to see the Breakfast Club this Friday night (GREAT 80s cover band), and the cabin weekend. Also, I can't wait for Buster's knee to be better again. I'm REALLY ready for that to be over!

What would you like to see happen different? The economy get better. I mean, clearly that'll take years, but some improvements would be nice. Also, I'd like for us to finally sell our boat. Anyone need a 2007 Supra wakeboarding boat???

What about you will you be changing? See above...you know the whole cuticle and cussing thing.

What happened in '08 that you didn't think would ever happen? My dad and sister reconciled their differences and are communicating again. Hooray!

Will you be nicer to the people you care about? I'm pretty sure I already rock in that department, but I guess there is always room for improvement, so sure!

Will you dress differently this year than you did in 08? Nope

Are you going to be in school in 09? Thank the Lord, NO!

How will you make more money in 09? Probably either stripping or waiting tables at Hooters. That's what I've narrowed it down to, but no final decisions as of yet.

Will you do charity work? I'd like to do more, yes. Definitely add a couple of Angel Tree kids to the Christmas list next year. I'm sure that counts for something.

Will you be nice to people you don't know? It depends. Do they deserve it???

Do you expect 2009 to be a worse year for you than 2008? I expect 2009 to be GREAT!

How much did you change from this time last year til now? Not too many changes, really. I have worked out regularly in the last year, so my legs and abs are much more toned. Yay! Gotta keep up that lifestyle fo sho!

Do you plan on having a child? Well, we may conceive in 2009 at some point, but probably won't actually have a child until 2010.

Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now? YES!!!! I have the best friends in the world!

Major lifestyle changes? Just the keeping up with the exercise routine, and if we get pregnant, that obviously changes your life.

Will you be moving? Not planning on it at this point.

What will you make sure doesn't happen in 2009 that happened in 08? Excessive $$$$$ $pending!!

Will you have someone to kiss on New Years midnight? Yeppers! But hopefully he won't be sick next year. I'd much rather have a kiss on the lips than a peck on the cheek. LAME.

Wishes for 2009:
Health and Happiness for all my family and friends
Raises for all my family and friends
Sell the boat
Save more money
Improvements in the economy

Well, that about wraps it up. Happy New Year everyone!!
